NAPIER WOOL SALE

BIUGI-IT SORTS DOWN CONSIDERABLY.

(BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

NAPIER, 18th March.

The final Napier wool sale of the season was held here to-night, when 12,566 bales were offered to the usual bench of buyers. The catalogue consisted chiefly of late shorn and backcountry wools, generally heavy in condition and skirty. The bidding was fairly spirited. As the sale will continue till well after mdnight it is impossible to quote the exact result. It would seeni, however, that all good bight wools are down very considerably the drop being estimated at ljd to 2£d per lb. Low grade lough and cotty wools were keenly competed for, and sold at rates above expectations, some making as much as good bright lots. Price! for this class were certainly much harder. The bulk of the lambs' wool was passed in.
