DETECTIVES SUSPENDED
SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS IN
MELBOURNE,

MELBOURNE, 16th March.
The Chief Commissioner of Police has suspended .from duty Detective-Inspec-tor Olholm, head of the railway detective branch; Detective O'Sullivau, second in charge of the same branch; and Detectives M'Pherson and Fowler.
It is alleged that the four men visited a suburban hotel and seized a quantity of goods which they alleged were stolen. The proprietor, who denied knowledge of the goods, which he said were left at the hotel by a man, was (it is alleged) threatened with police action, and rather than face proceedings, is stated to hare agreed to a certain suggestion, and a cash sum running into four figures changed hands.
