Band nvill• ■launch, its monster novelty carnival at, Athletic Park en Anniversary Day, 22rid - January, and will also contmue'en Sat-' urday, 24 th January. > Arrangements have been in hand for' Ebme considerable time, and some very novel stunts have been- thought out. Arrangements have, been made with Mr.- Charlie Barton, ' cinematographer. to take moving pictures'of various sections of the car..nival.' These'pictures will be.screened in .the city after, the carnival is over. There will be plenty of side-shows, re-• ■freshment-stalls, etc. An industrial procession, will leave Government' Buildings at 11 a.m. on Anniversary' Day. In conjunction with the Scottish and Irish dancing competitions, it is announced that Pipe-Major Macdonald will' take post entries at the dancing board: at 1 p.m. _on Anniversary Day. A carnival' ball in the Town Hall is announced for Anniversary Night, with music supplied by the Dixie Orchestra. . Prizes are offered for the best fancy dresses, ■ hats, etc, ... .■■ f ". ■■'■•■
