WANGANUI WOOL SALE

PBICES MAINTAINED. ■ (BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WANGANUI, 9th January. The second Wanganui wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 20,000 bales were offered to a full bench representing all buying countries as well as New Zealand mills. .Bulk wool was purchased on Bradford account, but good support came from the Continental section. A few lots suited American buyers, consequently competition was not keen, and the lots submitted were not up to standard of; the first sale, as seed was in evidence, and the wools showed more condition and were not' so attractive. A pleasing feature was the^ improvement in get-up, while classing received more attention, and skirting of fleeces was more general in comparison wjth South Island sales. The market was firm at the late rates established. Compared with the values at the last Wanganui sale, the market is probably ruling at an average threepence lower for fleece woofe. No change was apparent iiv pieces and oddments. Lambs were irregular in corapetilaou aiul represented withdjftwjjfc ~
