Sir Alfrk vVn boit, was born m Christchurch and was a pupil O f the Mount Cook Boys' SclJol Uelhnaton. He was first employsd in the office of the late flon T Kenneav Macdonald. He subsequently went Z lasmama, and after a succ3ssfal bu«i-" ness career was appointed, in 1919 Agent-General m London for Tasmania Whils holding that office he strongly advocated an empire air service. Sit Alfred Ashbolt returned to Hobart from -London only a few months ago.
