Ctl°a °f CoUn^ tea™ j» The difficulty of arranging a mutually acceptable date for Plunket. Shield matches cropped up again in interprovincial correspondence. The Auckland Uricket Association wrote stating that it could not alter its dates with Canterbury and Otago already arranged— Canterbury at Christmas and Otago at the New lear. It was mentioned that members took strong exception to some f« -th? reported- remarks of members of the Wellington Association. The pro--posal to alter the rules in Plunket Shield matches came originally from Otago. The chairman said he thought they ought to endeavour to "foster good feeling, and he would suggest that they should accept the Auckland . proposal and endeavour to arrive at a more satisfactory arrangement for future seasons. Wellington would, under the- .proposal, play Canterbury at Christchurch on Ist, 2nd, and 3rd January,, and leave the dates open for the Otago and Auckland matches. v.Mr. Buck mentioned that the Otago,Canterbury match-had been played for forty .years; at. Christmas, and this was .the.:first break. ■The chairman's suggestion -was agreed to unanimously, and the secretary was instructed accordingly. ' : ..
