ALL BLACKS' TOUR
TRANSMISSION OF MESSAGES.
Through the efforts of Mr. A. T. Mavkman, Secretary: of the Post Office, who is at present in,. London, 'a promiso lias been obtained that mid-week messages, giving details of the All Blacks' matches, shall be given preference in the matter of transmission.' From the commencement of the New Zealand Rugby team's tour there has been considerable delay in the transmission of the reports of matches. Representations made at the instance of the Press Association to the Pacific Cable authorities first met with no response, it being stated that traffic was congested nnd football could not be given preference over commercial work. The Telegraph Department thereupon cabled to Mr. Markman, requesting hifii to move in tho matter. Hiß representations to tho Paftific Board have/had thp satisfactory result mentioned, but not without strong opposition.
