VICEREGAL.
At Government House, this morning, in the presence'of the Honourable Sir Francis Bell, tho Right Honourable Sir Robert Stout, the Hon. Mr. Justice Adams, the Hon. Mr. Justice MacGregor, and Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C., His Excellency the Governor-General, presented to the Honourable Sir William Sim the letters patent of Knighthood, consequent upon his elevation to the dignity of Knight Bachelor. It had been His Excellency's intention to make tho presentation at the Investiture at Government House on Saturday evening next, but tho earlier ceremony was arranged owing to the necessity of Sir* William's departure for Duncdin tomorrow.
Sir William Sim, Judge of tho Supreme Court,. accompanied by Lady Sim, leaves for Dunedin to-morrow night. Mr. Justice Adams leaves for Christclmrch.
Mr. A. J. M'Curdy is representing the Upper Hutt-Town District at the Municipal Association Conference at Auckland this week. The1, Johnsonvillo Town Board has asked him to express its views also on matters affecting town districts. He will obtain informntion while in Auckland rclhlivo to hospital and electric power board activities in Uio Northera Ulslrjsk
