NEW CRICKET COACH
CAPIAIN BADCOCK AT AUCK-
LAND.

AUCKLAND, This Day. Captain J. R. Badcock, recently appointed coach to the Wellington Cricket Association, arrived from London by the Port Caroline to-day. He' is 27 years of age, and in his prime as a batsman and bowler, though he has done his best as a batsman. He expressed the opinion that the English earn which is to play in Australia was the best available, taking last season's form as a guide. Much would depend on the captaining, but having GUligan as skipper left little to complain about. GilUgan had captained the team in «U lests against tho Africans, and if the men retained their form, he expected they would be the equal of the best Australia could put in the field
