The foreign exchange market is reacting peculiarly ,- to the Far Eastern and European situations, with resultant gains un the Itone Kong Pckin, and Shanghai rates? but there has been a sharp reaction in sterling resulting in a.two-cent overnight loss. The pound has now reached 4.44 dollars Bar silver has readied now heights since 192' to-day's prices being 70 8-10 cents per ounce' representing, an avera a e gain of nearly three cents over any months in 1923. A large part of the silver demand was credited to the Far East, especially Indian buying. The Euro' pean .exchanges have followed the English reaction fairly generally. - re-
