The Nelson Education Board has been notified of a Government grant to erect a portable room at Hampden Street School to accommodate 56 children until the Auckland Point School is built, when the Department will take into consideration the question of remodelling and enlarging Hampden Street School.

The settlers of Rai Valley have requested that the name of their post offive be Eai Valley, instead of Flat Creek. The Post and Telegraph Department has replied that it will not object to the alteration.
