KEEN COMPETITION IN MELBOUBNE. (DNITBD rRiSS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received 30th September, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 29th September. Offerings of 10,569 bales of fine wools sold steadily at recent prices. Medium wools are in large supply, and have met with somewhat quieter demand. Fair quantities were bought in owing to the high limits placed on them. (Receveid 30th September, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The first wool sales for the season opened with an offering of 4926 bales. Competition was keen and well sustained. Prices ranged up to 40Jd per pouud. [The catalogue arranged for Melbourne was 15,000 bales.]
