CHARGES AGAINST BRITISH
JAPANESE ACCUSATIONS.
(Received 30th September, 11.30 a.m.) PEKIN, 29th September. A Mukden message states that the local Japanese papers accuse the British Consul in Mukden of securing the evacuation of British troops from Shanhaikwan after soiling their arms and ammunition to tho Chihli authorities. The Consul and other British residents are accused of assisting the Mukden enemy unorder to appease local sentiment. Tiio Consul has issued a denial of this charge, which reflects the general aiili-Anglo-Saxou campaign in the1 Japanese 1 ress in Manchuria, where white correspondents are regarded as spies.
