Maloney, Asjsoqiate -Director of 'Physical Education . ,at Stanford, who is a passenger, on the ;Makura as manager of :.the Stanford (tennis team, which h)fc -just concluded fl successful tour of Australia, aiid is .now on its w;ay to -the United States. ;Mr. s\laloney ,is a -keen ;Rugby .enthusiast, and-left no doubt of his feelings ,when'he said ''Hugby is the game, .and : American football is now played as a .business." Mr. Maloney said that as. a result of ,the_ games played by the All Blacks in Californa, students" of the universities jhad ;be_en ;left .with' the .inipressfpn t t!iut jfrom the standpoint of .amateur sport .the only thing worth while was to play .the game. That impression" had been ; handed down as a -tradition from .one .generation- of students to .another, and lad done much to raise tlie standard of. lUniversity 'athletic activities.
