WON BY MARLBOROUGH FROM- ■ GOLDEN BAY. TAKAKA, 27th September. The fourth Seddon Shield match played at Takaka to-day between Marlborough (challengers) and Golden BayMotueka (holders) i-esulted in a win for Marlborough by 6 points to nil. The afternoon was fine after a spell of rain: the ground was heavy and the ball slippery. MarToorough had the best of the game throughout. The scoring was done in the first half, Maher and Phillips each securing a try.

The match between the Taxi and Carriers' team against the Oil Stores was played at Miramar on Saturday, and it resulted in a, win for the former by 10 points to 3. The scorers for the winners were Foley and Williams, a try each. Ryan converted both. For the losers" Grant kicked a penalty goal. Mr. A. C.' Kit.to was referee.
