BUTTER MARKET

UPWARD MOVE. OF PRICES LATEST LONDON QUOTATION, (UNITED PRES3 ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received 29th September, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 27th September. Butter prices continue to advance, and with Germany still buying large quantities of Danish, Dutch, Esthonian, and Siberian, further rises would not be surprising. The advance is chiefly in finest descriptions, of which the supply "will presently be exceedingly limited, for no increase in quantity is expected before December. • . The only "bearish" feature in the market is the huge quantity of butter stored in the U-aited States. This was estimated on Ist September to be over 156,----000,000 pounds, of which 53,000,000 is above the quantity held on Ist September, 1923, so the United States is not likely to require any quantity of Danish or New Zealand butters for the next five months, which means that Great Britain will get the larger quantity of both makes of butter.
