MEAT CONTROL BOARD

The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board yesterday unanimously re-elected Mr. David Jones to be chairman of the board for the ensuing twelve months. Mr. J. S- Jessep was likewise re-elect-ed vice-chairman. Mr. William Perry was re-appointed acting-chairman during the absence of Messrs. Jones and Jcssep.

The following interesting extracts are taken from a letter just received by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board from its chairman, Mr. David Jones who is at present in London:—"J find the general opinion amongst the men who are handling our meat is that it is arriving on the market in much better condition than previously. There is no doubt that the work "that has been done at New Zealand ports, together with the inspection that is carried on. in London, has assisted materially in putting our meat on the market in much better condition. Our meat in Great' Britain has a- wonderfully good name. I have never seen Australian and Argentine niertt advertised as such in tho shops, but there are few butphers' windows but what are advertising New Zealand and Canterbury lamb. The supplies of meat on the 'market have been well regulated; things could not have been better arranged. The agents who are doing- a commission trade consider that the regulation of supplies on tho London, market .is a very great factor i<> lumping- ,i uUajy I'iUUSS t)£ Jtfictt."
