At half-time the score was: Wairoa 31, Hawkes Bay 9 The home team's big, fast forwards completely dominated the play and gave, the- backs plenty of oppoitumties, Tayloi's fine goal kicking being a great feature o£ the game The visitois weie outclassed in the fiist spell, and their backs weio unable to get moving Ihe second,spell saw better combination, and with a' certain amount of luck, sixteen points weie added by Hawkes Bay, while Wairoa's Bcore remained station-" ary; but several times the home team narrowly missed sconng The better team undoubtedly won Both fifteens were very tired at the end of the game
