Unusual interest attaches*\to. a .great Basuto "Pitso," or annual National Assembly, which was opened to-day at Maseru by the Earl of Athlone. Over thir,ty thousand natives were present, many, having ridden for: miles over the hills, 'and it is said to be the biggest pitso on record. Basutoland is under Imperial rule, and no European is allowed to own la,nd.' The. country .is .under stricter Prohibition than America.
