MEETING OF N.Z. ASSOCIATION

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association was continued yesterday afternoon, Mr. F. Meadowcroft (president) in the chair.

Mr. Fastier (Dunedin) moved: —"That in all tournaments the skips of rinks, doubles, or singles players be held responsible for seeing that all bowls played by members of their rinks, doubles, or singles are stamped in accordance with tho rules. In the event of any unstamped, bowls being played,. the rink, double, or singles player so offending shall be disqualified and the game be awarded to their opponents.". The motion was agreed to and the rules amended accordingly. Monday, 12th January, was decided "as the opening ■ date of the tournament in Wellington. The singles will commence on 12th January, the pairs on 15th January, and the rinks on 19th • January. It was decided that the singles be played on the two-life principle, as far as the section play is concerned. The same principle is to apply to the pairs. The Wellington members of the council -wye appointed a tournament executive. ': •

It was agreed that the bowls of all players in the finals of singles, pairs, and. rinks be "tested before the" games. It was- also resolved:— '.'That the year when the bowls are tested should be stamped on the bowls." Votes of thanks were passed _to the outgoing officers and ]to, the president.

' Tlie members of the' council of the association were the guests of Mr. S. Potter, president of the Wellington Bowling Centre, at the Hataitai Club's pavilion last evening. The entertainment took the form of a smoke concert and conversazione. The musical programme was arranged by Mr. E. J. Hill. To-day the members of the council were taken for a. motor-drive out to the Hutt, and on to Day's Bay,- as guests of the president of the association (Mr. F. Meadowcroft). ■ '
