He was well on the wood, driving a tremendous ball at times,- and his short work, especially putting, was' much superior... After' being 3 up at the" turn he did 3's at-the eleventh and twelfth, and. jivas '-.& up. Black .won the next, but----Goss took the fourteenth in 4, also winning the eighteenth. He 'finished 6 up on. the. morning's play. •; . .!-: , Harold arid Quin, going out, halved every hole except the fourth, which was taken by Harold, who also got the short tenth and eleventh., Quin ' won the twelfth; and the next two were halved:' From this on Harold broke.badly, losing each:of the four remaining holes, Quin winning the round 2 up. .',-■' An interesting '.game: was provided by Wrighb and Gunson, they being evenly matoheduntil the fifteenth, when Wright struck trouble, making the score allsquare. At the sixteenth Wright duffed his second into th' o wire netting and gave up,the liole. . H» Avon the seventeenth and gave up the eighteenth after duffing his tee shot and bunkering his third ; vGunson-thus finishing 1 up. ..;.
