DECREASED PRODUCTION
The Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture reports"' that the salted butter graded for August, 1924, totalled 1875 tons, and the unsalted 5 tons, .a total of 1860 tons, compared with 2030. tons salted, and 9 tons tuisalted for August of last year—a decrease of 7.8 per cent. The cheese graded for August, 1924, comprised:— White, 109 tons; coloured, 99 tons—a total of 208 tons', compared with 182 tons white aud 116 tons coloured," a total of 298 tons—a decrease of 30.2''pe1' cent. ■■-■-.
Converting these figures into but-ter-fat equivalent, there is a decrease of 9.2 per cent, in butter-fat production for the montli, as compared with Auuust last year.
Stoclcs held in the various. grading ports at 31st August were : Butter, 2193 tons; cheese, 502 tons. . ■ ■ ' ;
