PORT NICHOLSON LADIES' CLUB.

A really good time was in store for the 63 rifle enthusiasts from Petoiie Ladies, Railway, and Harbour Board Clubs who journeyed down to the Port Nicholson, ladies' range last week for, indeed, the ladies have tho knack of making one feel at home. While the shooting was in progress cards and musical" items were enjoyed by those in the supper room, which was beautifully decorated with paper streamers and balloons. ' At the conclusion of ths shooting a community "sing" was held, which put everyone in good spirit for all tho good things that followed. After supper Miss L.. Campbell, the clubs captain, thanked all the visitors for coming along and congratulated them I on their good shooting. Mrs Fuller and Miss Wild, of the Peton'e Club, each with'a score of 49, had to out for first prize, while the "hard luck1' one went to Miss Gregory with 38. - In the case of the Wellington Har- ' bour Board, Messrs. M'Donald and Collins each registered 48, but on tho count back Mr. Collins took first place, and .i Mr. Cleverley came in at the other end with 35. V ■ - Messrs. Cook,. Anderson, and Bfoskins, of the Railway Club, tied for first place with 47 each, and on the count back Mr. Cook was the fortunate one. Mr Fabian ■witn 41 received the other prize. | After the prizes had been given out J Mrs Fuller (Petone Ladies), Mr. Cook (Railways), and Mr. Ash' Edwards (Harbour Board) suitably replied on behalf of their respective clubs. "Trigger" happened to be present' at tins function. He considers great credit is due to the work of the committee for the excellent arrangements made.
