While taking, the main theme of the play. for. Its plot, the director, John- M'Dermott,- enhanced-the picture-with added situations and circumstances which, through the limitations of the- stage,.; could not haye been mcluded_ in the original play. Blanche Ingram is left a fortune by her aunt, the conditions being that she marry-within 24 hours, but her .jhusband must not ba her present fiance.'; To win the legacy she decides to* marry a man who cannot live more than a few months at the most.
