' A serious shrinkage in the Empire supplies of butter is a feature of the dairy produce industry, according to Weddel's annual review for the year ended 30tlv June. The proportion of Empire butter to the total imports o* butter into the United Kingdom was 35 per cent., compared" with 45 per cent. in 1922-23, and 52 per cent, in 1921-22.v
On. the' other hand, the supplies of foreign butter have- considerably increased.' It is - noteworthy that shipments from Siberia, which has resumed exporting after .seven years, amounted to 2300;tons/.' •■-.. . ■ -..
