Maurice Burns Ward was charged with: assaulting his sister so as to cause actual bodily harm, also withrcommon assault. I'lorence Ida'Bolton, the woman concerned, said that she did not. remember the_ night when she-- received injuries to her head. ..She remembered goini* out to post a.letter,, and.the next thing she remembered was being in hospital. Her brother was very drunk that evening .She.was not living with-him, and had no. reason to. fear him.... Medical evidence was given, that, the woman's loss of memory .might be due to her injuries., .The..defence was that accused was drunk .and did not. know «Btf?£ was doing. A verdict of not guilty was returned and acensed' was dWharfe.T
