NOTICE is hereby given that at a Specu.l Meeting of the Makara County Council held on Friday, the thirteenth day of June, 1924, the following resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the | ..Council to be: held on FRIDAY, the ■eighth clay of August, 1924. at 10 a.iri at the Council Chambers, liallan.ee street Wellington. RESOLUTION. That in pursuance and exerciso of the powers vested in it by Section 16 of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913," and of all other Acts and powers (if any), it in that behalf enabling and with the consent of tio ratepayers of the Makara Riding of the County of Makara, testified by a peti tion signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers m the said Riding;, the capital Values of whose properties as appearing in the Valuation Roll of the said County is collectively greater than the capital values of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Makara County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows-— 1 THAT the Council proceed to" raise a loan of One Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Pounds (£1250) for the purpose of road improvement, removing corners regrading and metalling and reconstructing bridges and culverts in the Makara j.Ruling of the County of Makara 2. THAT sucli loan bo called "The Makara County Makara Riding Loan of £1250,

3 THAT the currency of the said loan shall be for a period of Twenty (20) years commencing on the Ist day of July IS24' and maturing on the Ist day of' July'

4. THAT the interest on tho snid loan shall be at tho rale of Six pounds (£6) per centum per annum and shall be payable ; half-yearly on the Ist day of January and- July in each and every year. 5. THAT the form of security for the payment of principal and interest on the said loan shall bo Ten (10) debentures of Fifty pounds (£SO), each and Thirty (30) debentures of Twenty-five pounds (£25) each, an.q relativo coupons in a form in conformity with the provisions of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913." 6. THAT the Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge for the repayment of the so id loan and the interest nnd the sinking fund and other charges thereon tho special rate of Five thirty-seconds (5 32nds) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on tho basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in tho Makara Riding of the County of Mako ra.

7. THAT the principal and interest shall be payable at the Bank o£ New Zealand, Wellington. 8.
