The_ Scottish Harriers were the guests of Mr. W. -Ballantyne. senior club president, at Eona Bay on Saturday, when the three-mil e ladies' bracelet handicap was contested. Sixteen runners lined up for the start, the. scratch mau conceding starts up. to five minutes. With one or two exceptions the runners b'nisli.ed in- the same order .as they'started, although the gaps had been greatly decreased,, a matter of two minutes only separating the first and the last man to finish. Trail, the limit man, although challenged at one stage by Clarke, ran home a, winner by about ICO yards from Clarke, with Waring the same distance back, tliird. The full result was as follows:—E. Trail (smin), 17mm 41sec, 1; W. .Clarke (lmin 40sec), I7min 38sec, 2; H.. Waring (3miu 15sec), 16min 45 see, 3. 1f.., Silver (scr) established the fastest time, 14min S9sec.
