WIN FOR WELLINGTON BOYS
A match played between • representatives of the Wellington and Manawatu primary schools at Anderson Park on baturday afternoon resulted in a win for the Wellington boys by 7 goals to 2. me home side pressed from the start and after combined work Condon coaled' ■with a hard shot. A few minutes later Greig centred to Engle v who brought Wellington's 'score up to 2. Manawatu made strenuous efforts to break through, but lacked finish. A passing rush °by Welhngton gave Condon an opportunity., and he'brought the score to 3 Manawatu rallied, and Anderson and Young put in good shots, but the Wellington goalie was too good, and halftime was called \vith the home side leading. Shortly after resuming, M'Keen took advantage of an opening and scored.. His shot was quickly ioflowed by ones from Clementson and Briggs, bringing Wellington's total to 6. Manawatu had bad luck, for they twice struck th e post, and another shot went just,over the bar. M'Kay came •out to meet a Wellington rush, and Clementson scored. • Tho Wellington goalie was beaten by a fine shot from Hands, and it was followed by one from Anderson, making the final score '7-2. Mr. N. Johns was referee. Before the Palmerston team returned they were entertained at diuner by Messrs. C. K. Dick and A.. A. Kirk
