NOT SELECTED
PARKIN AND THE SECOND TEST.
(AUSTRALIAK-NBW ZEALAND CABLB ASSOCIATION.)
(Received 23rd June, 1 p.m.)
LONDON, 22nd June.
The cricket critic of the "Daily News" cays that Parkin will not find it necessary to refuse an invitation to play in the next Test because he will nob be selected. Whether this is due to the selectors' estimate of his bowling, or expresses disapproval of his article, is unknown, however. There ie a rule that no player engaged in Test matches should write or comment thereon until the season has ended, and Parkin has notonly broken this rule, but has driven a "coach and four horses" through it.
Parkin, who plays for Lancashire, heads the bowling average to date, having captured 89 wickets at a cost of 8.35 runs per wicket. Parian was tried during the South Africans' second innings, but captured no wickets, 38 runs being hit up against him.
