HUTT POWER BOARD
The fortnightly meeting of the Hutt Valley " Electric Power Board was held on Thursday. Present : Messrs. J W M'Ewan (chairman), W. T. Cotton, A. J. Hobbs; H. Foley, A. W. Press, A. J. M'Curdy, and 11. Jay. The Railway Department gave its approval, under certain conditions, for trie board's reticulation wires to cross over the railway line. Referring to a collision in which one of Messrs. Cotterill Bros.' buses was damaged by one of the board's motor vehicles, the Atlas Insurance Company said the fault lay with the board's e-mp'loyee, and therefore the company was prepared, on behalf of the board," to accept liability.
Accounts, principally for material, to the amount of £7439 were passed for payment.
Regarding the proposals for the reticulation of Paremata, Mr. Mildenhall waited on the board. The principal point raised was the policy of the board egardmg the charge to be made for nouses which, were occupied for only a mTi , of "lOiltlls during the year.
