TIVOLI THEATRE.

Tivoli submitted the weekly change of programme last evening, "and presented in particular two new items, one by Maxim Brodi and his company of opera singers, and tho other by Estelle Rose in impressions and stories. The opera singers consisted of a group of four assisted by Miss Rene Morrisey at tho piano. The party received a very warm reception in a number of grand opera selections, the best being accorded Miss G. Huttoii, who sa.ng "Wake, Soul of Mine" (Gordon), and as a recall "Apples on a Lilac Tree" in a fine contralto voice. She was also associated with Mme. L. Heselev, soprano, in "April Morn" (Batten). Maxim Brodi, as the leader of- the party, possesses a particularly pleasing tenor voice, and sang tho old favourite, "La Donna c Mobile" and "My Lovely Celia," and was associated with Mr. K. Cooke,' a good baritone, in "Sul Cunipo Delia Gloria" (Donizetti). Mr. Cooke sang "Route Marching" as his solo, and the whole company presented "Blue Danube Waltz" in excellent style. Miss Morrisey played very well a couple of pianoforte solos. The company was thoroughly welcomed. Miss Rose walked on to the stage and into favour at the same moment, and the audience was delighted with . her, her impressions and her stories. Her final appearance to insistent recalls was in the Italian character sketch, "The Story of a. Rose," and she retired amid hearty expressions of appreciation. Will Hay and his schoolboys provided an interval- of fun, and many people in the house had tears in their eyes when they had finished laughing over one particularly clever fcene. Theirs is an original and remarkably humorous act. Jen Latona, in songs at the piano; La Belle Onra, aerial trapeze artist; Bert Watson, who presents an equilibrist performance; and Joe Breiinan and Ida Newtozi fill the rest of an excellent bill.
