The Federal Public Service Board "has fixed the classification of salaries of officers of the Postal branches of the Commonwealth. The maximum salaries for superintendents' range from £612 at Perth to £876 at Sydney; assistant superintendents, £480 to £635, and supervisors £384 to £600. The classification provides for an annual review of the scales of salaries. The board has decided that the Commonwealth Statistician's figures regarding the cost of living shall be taken into consideration on Ist April in each year, and where the index number exceeds the given limit, or is below the'stated figure, salaries will be increased or decreased accordingly. The right of appeal is provided for.
