THE HONOLULU MARU
£6000 AWARDED FOR SALVAGE.

SYDNEY, 19fa June. Ihe Marine Court awarded £6000 as salvage against the owners of the Honolulu Maru. The owners of the tunChampion will receivo £4000, and £2000 will be divided among tho tug's crew.
The salving of the Honolulu Maru was a sensational episode of the storniy weather on the Australian coast at the beginning of April. On her way from Melbourne to Sydney the Japanese steamer was caught in a violent storm, and being heavily listed, called by wireleas for help. H.M.S. Dauntless, of the Special Service Squadron, steamed to her relief, but owing to the heavy sea could do no^more than keep in company with her. The Dauntless was later relieved by H.M.S. Dragon. The Champion and another tug went out from Sydney and tho distressed steamer was brought into port.
