_ On the steamer Ling Nam, which arrived at Auckland yesterday morning, en route to China from a South American port, are three hundred Chinese, states a Press Association message.
"A peculiar thing about insects which are enemies of other insects is that.many of them confine their actions to one particular insect, or its particular species," remarked Mr. Miller, Government Entomologist, when telling *he building conference yesterday that he was having inquiries made in Europe and England with reference to any natural enemy of the steel-blue sau-fiy, which was attacking, in particular, ihe pinus radiata, the grub leaving a hole about, one-quarter of an inch in diameter.' He said there was no chance of the parasite insect becoming a nuisance such as the weasel had become when it was imported to deal with the rabbits.
