Londoners are to be assisted to learn the lost art of conversation. Two hundred carriages, in which people can talk to each other in normal tones, are to bo put in Eorvico on tho tubo routes. Tho present clamour is to bo reduced by lining Ore steel sides and the floors of the carriages with thick asbestos facings. Six .of these "conversation cars" are already running on tho Hampsteod line. In them are embodied the chief features of tho six experimental cars which wero made for the Underground competition of 1922.
