A number of people assembled to look at a turtle. There was a child in tho party who proceeded to stroke the shell. "Why aro you doing that, my dear?" asked a clergyman. "Oh, to . please the turtle." "Why, you might as well stroke the dome of St. Paul's to please the Dean and Chapter," said the clergyman.
