CROSS BENEFIT FUND
CAMPAIGN CONCLUBEB.
The campaign. in conneefiea w^lh the Cross Benefit Fund was brought t-o a uose at a meeting of the committee held yesterday. It was n ported that when all the lists are in hand the fund will amount to about £1150, exclusive of £750 from the City Council, aome £300 of which came through Mr. Stott, of the Automobile Association, On account of the difficulty in securing the Town Hall ier a suitable evening, a previous decision of the committee to avail itpelf of an offer from Signor Cesaroni was rescinded, and the proposal waa abandoned. It was decided to place the money in the hands of the Public Trustee for administration in the best interests of Mrs. Cross nnd her child.
The following subscriptions were acknowledged :—Amount already acknowledged, £1110 9s 8d j Aspro,' Ltd. W H. Tripe, and D. M. Elgar, £1 Is each; balance concert ticket money, £6 10s; " E." and " X.C.M.," 10s each; A Friend, 2s 6d; A. Greening, 10s 6d: R. Hannah, £1 Is; Warehousemen's Association, £5 ss; F. Townsend, £5; G. M'Cabe, £1 Is; Wairarapa Automobile Association, £25 13s; Baker Motor Bus Co., Ltd., 10s 6d. In addition to the above the City Corporation pays £750 £1910 5s 8d; less sundry accounts paid
