Signor Pillipelli has undergone many hours of stringent interrogation, but no light has yet been shed on the mystery of Signor Matteotti's fate, except that allegedly dainhiiig evidence has been produced against .Dumini, in whose luggage, it is stated, blood-stained articles were discovered.
■ Ihe police have arrested GioVanni Manuelli, an ex-number of tho FascistDirectory, in connection witli the'Matteotti kidnapping affair. The arrest amazed and 'shocked the public, as Marinelli had been administrative secretary of the party since its foundation, ■ and enjoyed authority second only to that of Sfrnor Mussolini. Recently he .lost Signor Mussolini s confidence.
