Association's special correspondent at the International Labour Conference at Geneva states: "The conference is making very slow progress, as the system of block nomination and voting is holding up work. A meeting of the Government group of South Americans submitted a block 6f names for election to: the anthrax committee. The Australians drew attention to the absence of Commonwealth representation in the list, and tho futility of carrying on under such conditions, and said it was tantamount to a suppression of rights. The States desiring representation in the grouf then agreed to individual nominations and .a secret ballot, Australia receiving 51 votes out of * a total of 58.

"Messrs. Curtain and Thomas objected to the same system in their group. Both were elected to the anthrax committee, thus giving Australia triple representation. An Australian was also' elected to the night baking committee.
