PARAMOUNT THEATRE.

Pola Negri's latest Paramount production, 'Shadows of Paris," presents her as a .queen of the Apaches, which gives her greater display for her talents than any of her other, recent attractions. Shadows of Paris" will be' screened finally this evening at the Paramount Iheatro. "THE HARBOUR BAR," "Loving Lies," which features Monte ■blue and Evelyn Brent, will provide the feature portion of the programme at the Paramount Theatre ■ to-morrow. 1 eter B. Kyne, famed author of redblooded stories, provided the basic theme of "Loving Lies" in his famous novel "The Harbour Bar," bat Thompson Buchanan, noted author and creator of "Civilian Clothes," adapted the story to the screen and then produced the photoplay with an understanding of the author's ideas which makes the finished' play a double triumph. Monte Blue,, having once been a sailor, gives to the title role of the picture a realism and grace none but a sailor could. His supporting cast is especially competent. Evelyn Brent is seen opposite Mr. Blue, and Joan Lowell, a seventeen-year-old Associated Authors discovery, plays a. 'difficult part with delightful girlish freedom. Miss Lowell's diving and marked emotional talent establish her as a new screen player whose future work will bear, watching: Charles Gerrard ps the scheming shipping operator also does splendidly with an exactingl chav.acterisation. "Loving Lies" gives something decidedly new in sea stories, and provides drama sufficient to merit enthusiasm. '
