LODGE MEETINGS
The fortnightly meeting of the Pacific Lodge No.' 8, U.A.0.D., was held on Monday evening. A.D. Maurice Hyman presided over a crowded attendance. Ofiicial visits were paid to the Lodge by the Royal Arch Chapter, and Mewburn, Pride of Brooklyn, Excelsior, Holly, Coronation, and Island Bay Lodges; and also the District Presidents of No. 2 and 21 districts. Visitors were also present from Melrose, Auckland, Albion, and Makino Lodges, and also the Diamond Football Club. Sick pay, maternity bonus and accounts totalling £31 15s 3d were passed for payment. Three members joined the lodge by clearance, and two new members were initiated. ■ P.A. Bro. I. Domb was presented with a P.A. collar and diploma by P.S. Bro. Mawhiney, and also a collar and letter of appreciation was presented to Bro. F. Kuch for the services he has rendered to the lodge as organist and steward. On conclusion of the bueiness the lodge went into harmony, and . refreshments were supplied. The following toasts were honoured: "The King and The Druids," "The Grand Lodge," "Tho Diamond Football Club," and "The Visitors." Musical items were contributed by Bros. King. Hawkins, Brockenshire, and Gibson, assisted by Bro. G. Hearn as accompanist.
