, TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS. (BY TELEGRAPH—SPECUL TO THE POST.) ' PALMERSTON N., This Day. After heavy rain overnight, the s'eci ond day of the Manawatu Winter Show (opened to-day in bright, breezy we.a-' ther. The attendance on the first day was considerably below that of last year ±.IU-!. The lack pf special attractions was probably the cause. To-day the. attendance was better. A musical programme given by the Municipal Band last night was much appreciated. , Among, the meetings held to-day were the annual gatherings of the New Zealand (North Island) Sheepbreeders' Association and the Hereford .Breeders' Association. Arrangements for the Royal Show were discussed and settled. Judging in the poultry classes continued through the morning, and ivas not j finished by noon.
