Sir Eric Geddes, chairman of directors of'the Dunlop Rubber, Tire, and Allied Companies, referring1 to the fact that the Parent Tire Company was, opposing the scheme to • reduce , the capital, said this was sufficient to block the scheme. Negotiations with a view to a Settlement had so far proved unsuccessful. Sir Arthur DuCros, chairman of the Parent Tire Company, declared that under the reduction scheme the Parent Tire Company, holders of 'C preference shares asked for the sacrifice of £63,000/ which will be a gift lo ordinary shareholders, but they would i-o-operale in [ the most .friendly discussion on an alterative scheme,' '
