LOCAL MANAGEMENT
The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union met last evening, the chairman, Mr. J. Prendeville, presiding. Selwyn Club asked that the senior game set down for next Saturday be setaside and a bye arranged, on account of injuries to players. The committee resolved to reply that it regretted it could not alter the draw. Permission was granted for the annual ■fixture between the Training College first fifteen and Palmerston North Boys' High School, to be played at Palmerston North on 21st June. The junior grade match in Wellington for that day iis to ba defaulted. The Auckland Union wrote asking if arrangements could be made for the Wellington champion team to visit Auckland on 16th August to play a match against the Auckland champion team. jlt was decided to reply expressing regret that no promise could be given, as ' the local championships will not be decided by that date. A suggestion from the Wairarapa Union that a Wellington junior representative team should visit Wairarapa on 30th August was referred to the Junior Advisory Committee for consideration. A communication from the Manawatu Union offering to send a junior representative team to Wellington any time !in August was also referred to the Junior Advisory Committee, The Wellington War Memorial Fund Committee acknowledged receipt of £25 from, the union, on account. Permission was granted for' a match to be played between the Christchurch and Wellington Plumbers' Unions late in July or early in August. Regret was expressed that on account of the competition games a ground could not be allocated. The Lower Hutt Borough Council advised that it was prepared to allow the union to charge an admission fee to the Recreation Ground on one occasion in lieu of 24th May. The date is to be arranged with the Hutt Club. . It was decided to ask the N.Z.R.F.U. to call for nominations from local unions for the positions of delegates to the Imperial Rugby Conference.
