This firm have a stall at the Winter Show, and are exhibiting electric motors and an electrically-driven pump of a size suitable foi% farmers' use, and electric heaters, and appliances of all descriptions, prominent among which are domestic labour-savers, such as , electric irons, kettles, vacuum cleaners, toasters, grillers, cookers, and ranges. The above-named firm are the latest addition to the ranks of engineers in Palmerston North, they having built a substantial showroom and engineering workshop at 65, Bangitikei street, towards the end of last year. These premisos were ready for occupation by February last, and the workshop equipped with the most up-to-date machine-shop plant, and put into operation without delay. Although it is less than {our months since this firm opened for business, they sprang into immediate prominence, and are already employing 36 workers, 21 being occupied in putting in electrical installations, eight are engaged in the workshop, and the remainder in sales, showroom, and office duties. Visitors to Palmeriston North during Show Week are accordingly invited to visit the firm's premises in Eangitikei street, and inspect in actual operation the workshop equipment, which comprises three lathes, radial drilling ma-' chine, sensitive drill, shaping and screwing machines, grinders, power hammer, an up-to-dat"e forge, with electrically-driven blower, and punching, shearing, and metal-sawing machines. The whole of ono bay is served by an overhead travelling crane, which enables heavy pieces of machinery to be easily transported and conveyed to any one of the workshop machines, and an inspection of the plant in operation will convince all that engineering work of either the heaviest or the lightest and most delicate description can be performed with accuracy and expedition. A staff of ; highly-skilled mechanics is employed, and all work turned out will be guaranteed to be firstclass in quality and reasonable in price. •
