LODGE MEETINGS

The half-yearly meeting of Excelsior Lodge, No. 11, U.A.0.D., was held this week. The bards reported on sick pay, amounting to £22 17s 4d, and accounts were passed. A great deal of correspondence was dealt with. The election of officers resulted as follows: —A.D. Bro. Jennings; V.A., Bro. Hall; Secretary, Bro. M'Laughlin; Treasurer, Bro. Gauntlett; 1.G., Bro. King; Delegate to U.F.S; Medical Institute, Bro. M'Laughlin; Delegate to U.F.S. Dispensary Board, P.D.P. Bro. Johnston; Delegate to D.S. and P. Club, Bro. Fraser; Delegate to Royal Arch Chapter, P.A. Bro. Edmonds; Press Correspondent, Br. Edmonds. D.P. Bro. Cole, No. 2 District, installed the officers, assisted by P.D.P. Bro. John-, ston as M.C. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the installing ■ officer. The retiring officers were also accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

Island Bay Lodge of Druids held its half-yearly meeting in St. Hilda's Hall, Arch-Druid Bro. R. G. Ewing presiding. New members were initiated and several were proposed for membership. The balance-sheet and report were submitted, and showed steady progress. D.P. Bro. G. Sadd paid his" first official visit, and was heartily received. F. Kuch. The thanks of the lodge was accorded to Bro. F. Cornish, who has reached the rank of a past officer, for his services to the. lodge, and it was decided that ho should be presented with a P.A. collar and diploma. P.D.P. Bro. H. Fisher is in charge of the Juvenile Lodge as superintendent. The social committee acknowledged its gratitude to Bro. C. Orr and to Mrs. H. Fisher, Mrs. Woods, and others for assistance at social functions.
