WEDDINGS

- The wedding was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Buckle street, Wellington, of Miss Honora May (Nonie) Condon, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.i M. Condon, "Furze," Wellington, and Mr. James John Troy, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Troy, Wellington. The Rev. Father T. Linehan, assisted by the Rev. Father O'Donnell, officiated. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father Linehan. Also in the Sanctuary , was tho Rev. Father Kane, of St. Patrick's College. The bride wore a * gown, of white satin brocade and radium lace cut on straight lines, draped on the side, and caught with a pearl ornament. Hoi1 veil of tulle, worked by one of the sisters of Seatoun Convent, was held with a coronet of pearls and orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet. Mies Stasia Condon, who was wearing a frock of lavendar brocaded crepe de chirie and a black hat, attended as chief bridesmaid. Miss Mary Condon wore a lemon brocaded crepe de chine frock and black hat. Master Trevor Kennedy (Blenheim) also attended. Mr. Paul Sullivan. Lower Hutt, was best man, and Mr. Leo Raines, Wellington, was grcomcmon. Mr. Paul Culleir, of St. Patrick's College, played tlie wedding march, and also played during the Mass. After the ceremony a reception was held at Scott's tearooms, Manners street, zimong the many- guests present were Mrs. A. Kennedy and Miss M. Fairhall (Blenheim), Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien and their daughter (New Plymouth), Mrs. J. Sullivan (Dnnedin), Mr. J. O'Brien (Palmerston North), also the Rev. Fathers Linehan and Fallon. Mr. F. ■ O'Driscoll and J. Hopkins represented the Marist Club, of which the bridegroom was a prominent, member. Later, the bride and bridegroom left for the South, the bride wearing a wrap coat frock of grey gab-' ardin'e trimmed with Paisley, and a grey panne velvet hat to match.

She was 1 attended by Miss Iris Allen as bridesmaid, who wore a .charming frock of heliotrope shot taffeta, fashioned in tho EaVly Victorian stylo, and a picture hat of silver lace. Her bouquet was of pink roses and hothouse (lowers. Mr. George Lang was best man. After the ceremony a number of guests were entertained -by the bride's parents at Dustin's rooms, where a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. The bride and bridegroom afterwards left by motor for the North.

A naval wedding in which much interest was taken tpok place ,at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, Auckland,' on Monday afternoon, when Miss Shirley L'Estrange Nolan, youngest daughter of Lady .'Nolan and the late Sir Robert Nolan, was married to Lieutenant Studholme Barker, late R.N., son o£ Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Barker, of Geraldino, South Canterbury. The marriage sex-vice, which was fully choral, \vas conducted by Canon Percival Jamas. The bride was given away by Sir Edwin Mitchelson, M.L.C., Lieutenant Eric Rhodes, late R.N., of South Canterbury, acting as best man. Her Excellency Lady Jellicoe and tho Hon. Lucy Jellicoe were present with a party from Government House. The ceremony .was one of great brilliance, in which the glittering, gold of the naval uniform's enhanced the artistic effect of the bridal group, in which the predominating colour was a delicate shade of pink. The brido wore a medieval gown of silver lace with long-waistcd bodice and full skirt, a cluster of orange blossoms at the sido forming the only ornament. Her tulle veil, caught round .tho head with a spray of orange blossom, foil over a. graceful train of pale pink georgetto embossed with silver leaves. A very lovely bouquet was composed of white lilies and maidenhair fern. Tho five, bridesmaids—Miss Betty Fishor, Miss Betty^ Ferguson,. Miss Boris Barker, Misa Audrey Nolan, and Miss Dorothy Nolan —wore coral f>.ink frocks with godei skirts, and long'-waisted bodices of georgette, with shoulder capes trimmed with valenciennes _ lace tinted to match tha frocks. Their girdlos were of mauve-, shaded ribbons, and they wore, round their hair, wreaths of mauve and pink flowers. Their bouquets were of similar tinted flowers. On leaving the . church the bridal pair passed under an arch formed by th e crossed-swords of brother officers of the bridegroom. The guests were afterwards entertained at a recep* tion held by Lady Nolan, at Manono, St. Georgo's Bay road,
