PERSONAL MATTERS
The Speaker of the House of Representatives (Hon. C. E. Stratham) left for Dunedm last night. Mr. T. M. Wilford, Leader of the Opposition, returned from the Auckland district yesterday. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. R. F. Bollard, left this afternoon for Hamilton, where he will attend to departmental business. He will return to Wellington on Tuesday next. The Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, will leave on Monday for Rotorua, where he will attend a function at which a presentation will be made to Mr. P. F. Hockly, M.P. He will return at.the end of the week. The Mayor, Mr. R. A. Wright, left Wellington by the Main Trunk express to-day to inspect, as a member of the Tongariro Park Board, the sites proposed for the park hostel. Mrs. Sol. Myers has received information that her brother, Mr. John Goulston, of. Sydney, has been elected Grand Master of the New South. Wales Freemasons. He- held the office of Deputy. Grand Master for six yeirs, and visited Christchurch some 18 months ago representing his lodge at the installation of His Excellency Lord Jellicoe.' A rather unique honour was paid to him some years ago by the Sydney Masons naming a lodge after him. *He is a native of New Zealand,, and for some years resided at ■ Hokitika.
