MARAROA IN HEAVY WEATHER.
Strong southerly winds, accompanied uy torrential rams, were encountered by the ferry steamer Mararoa on her run down from ' Wellington to Lyttelton on ihursday night. Although the weather was boisterous, the Mararoa made a fairly good passage, and berthed r.t Lyttelton at 9.50 o'clock" on Friday morning. On the return trip from Lyttelton to Wellington last night the vessel experienced much" the same conditions, but, with a strong souther]y: wind behind her, she was able to make port shortly after 7 a.m.
